We’re sure you’ve looked on in horror, as we have, at the fires raging in Australia. On Sunday 26th January, Australia Day, we’ll be collecting voluntary donations from guests in our restaurants for the NSW Rural Fire Service, and we’ll be matching all donations made.
The bush fires Australia is experiencing are unprecedented. So far, over 8 million hectares of land have burned (over eight times as much as the 2019 Amazon fires and an area larger than Scotland), half a billion animals are dead and their habitats lost, scientists fear that entire species have been wiped out.
This Sunday, on Australia Day, we will be taking donations from anyone who wants to help, and Hawksmoor will be matching all funds raised. Alternatively, to make a donation directly to the rural fire services click here.
