Loose linen, a cold glass of something, and a steak and chips for £20. We’re 20 this year, so rather than getting soppy about it, we’ve brought back the summer lunch you go a bit mad for every year. Same dry-aged, charcoal-cooked beef as the main menu. And with the football on, a far better way to spend an afternoon than panic-ordering chips at half-time.

Available Monday – Thursday, 12pm–5.45pm, Friday & Saturday, 12pm–5pm.

Celebrating 20 years of Hawksmoor

20 years ago, we opened a steakhouse in Spitalfields with a simple idea: find the very best British beef, cook it properly, and have it served by genuinely happy people, without the white-tablecloth fuss.

Is our 20th anniversary a big deal to you? “Maybe,” we thought. “Also, maybe not.” So rather than getting soppy about it, someone said: “How about £20 steak and chips for our 20th instead?” And everyone nodded.

Bringing it back wasn’t a long meeting. It’s the summer special you go mad for every single year — we’ve genuinely come close to running out of steak more than once. So for a summer this iconic, of course it’s coming home.

The rump and chips for £20 is the whole point — and what 99% of you go for — but it’d be rude not to mention what goes around it.

Start with potted beef & bacon or the Hawksmoor Caesar, finish with a sticky toffee sundae, and you’ve got two courses for £25 or all three for £30.

Fancier cut? Sirloin’s +£5, fillet +£10. You may as well — it is a birthday, after all.

Steak not your thing? We’ve got chicken, veggie and fish options too. And of course, other sides (but we know you’ll choose the chips).

And you know us: no “birthday deal” small print, no catch. This is the same dry-aged, grass-fed glory you’ll find on the main menu, just at a generous price, served by a team who are always happy to see you.
