Edinburgh Fringe Steak & Seafood | Hawksmoor Edinburgh

The Fringe

Curtains up. Let's eat.

We know it’s hungry work being this damn cultured. So, whether you’re fortifying yourself for an afternoon of shows, in need of a debrief over a T-bone or simply avoiding your mate’s bagpipe opera…we’ve got your Edinburgh Fringe covered with show-stopping steaks and seafood, fab-value lunches and a safe, suave space from the madness.

The main event

The Fringe is a marathon. You need a proper pit stop.

Long days. Lots of walking. You’ll have earned yourself proper food, a good drink and a comfy chair.

Join us for lunch and enjoy steak and a side for £20, or settle in pre or post-show with our Summer Set Menu, two courses for £25 or three for £30.

Looking for something a little grander? Our three-course Classics Menu celebrates 20 years of Hawksmoor, and bundles our best sharing steak with a selection of our favourite starters, sides and puddings throughout the years.

And for anyone who wants to go the full royal mile, our à la carte is something to write home about – oysters, the big cuts, whole lobster – before finishing on the puddings, which by now need no introduction.

Got a group?

One of the less talked-about Fringe miracles. A lot of restaurants hit pause on larger bookings during the festival, but we’re doing the opposite. Cast, crew, clients or just a gang of your most cultured pals – we’re still taking group bookings throughout the festival. So whether that’s a big table in the restaurant or your own private dining room, we’ll get your star cast seated.

Our two private dining rooms sit inside the old banking hall, each named after a piece of the building’s history. The Tellers Room holds up to 48 guests under the original grand proportions and limestone walls — built for a family feast of sharing steaks and seafood, or a more formal dinner with proper wine pairings. The McLellan Room is the cosier option: 13 seats around a circular table with its own Lazy Susan, named after Sadie McLellan, the Scottish artist who etched the windows that ring the building.

The Venue

Hawksmoor Edinburgh occupies the former National Bank of Scotland’s Banking Hall, a Grade A listed building of national importance. It’s a lovely mix of locals and visitors here throughout the week, and you’re only a short walk from Waverley Station, Princes Street and George Street. Famous St Andrew Square is on our doorstep, and Edinburgh Castle’s just round the corner too.
