Named after Sir George Gilbert Scott, the architect behind this remarkable building, the Gilbert Scott Room is made for private dinners and smaller gatherings that want a bit of atmosphere without any fuss. Tucked just off the Martini Bar, it feels quietly grand: deep blue walls, warm lighting, rich wood, a handsome fireplace and a long table that brings everyone together nicely.

It is fully private, comfortably self-contained and equipped with full AV capability, making it just as suited to business dinners and presentations as birthdays, celebrations and long lunches that run on a bit. In other words, all the character of St Pancras, with the door closed behind you.

Enter through what were once Europe’s first revolving doors and you arrive in the Martini Bar — a room that makes an entrance before your guests even have the chance to. Triple-height and gloriously dramatic, it is all gilded stonework, painted ceilings and Gothic Revival grandeur, reimagined as a rather handsome shrine to the martini.

For private events, it is as flexible as it is striking. Take it over for drinks parties and standing receptions of up to 120, host a private dinner for up to 50, or spill out onto the covered, heated terrace for up to 40 more. It works beautifully for celebrations, launches, corporate events and parties that want a bit of theatre built in. In other words: a room with serious presence, proper drinks credentials and just the right amount of swagger.
