The Main Event
Begin with beef fillet carpaccio, smoked salmon or an ash-baked beetroot salad. The sort of starter that puts a healthy distance between this and a house dinner of beans on toast.
Then the decision that matters. A dictionary-thick fillet cooked properly, our much-loved rib-eye, charcoal-grilled monkfish, or the Winslade Wellington, which is our best argument that vegetarians should never settle. All served with a generous side: beef-dripping chips, creamed spinach, macaroni cheese or our English lettuce salad.
Finish with a pudding we are rightly known for, Sticky Toffee Pudding or Blueberry & basil whipped cheesecake. And because you have earned it, a glass of champagne, on us.
