Hawksmoor started in 2006 in London with a simple idea: remind people how good steak can be. The best beef + salt + charcoal – that’s it. And our ambitions to serve the best seafood, the best drinks, have the best team and do the whole thing with integrity followed soon afterwards.

We’ve brought everything we’ve learned to the historic LaSalle Powerhouse in River North, Downtown Chicago. Built in 1886, this former transport hub and later Michael Jordan’s restaurant now reflects everything we stand for: serving exceptional steaks and seafood in a space that celebrates both great food and the building’s storied past.

For nearly 20 years, we’ve partnered with farmers and ranchers who share our belief that great steak starts with caring for animals and the land. We source top-quality beef from family-run farms across the Northeast and Pacific Northwest, and cook it over real charcoal with Maldon sea salt. That’s it. When the beef is this good, you don’t need much else. We also serve sustainable seafood, fresh local produce, and artisanal cheeses. It’s all part of our mission to be one of Chicago’s best steak and seafood restaurants.

As a B Corp, and the only steakhouse we know of with that recognition, we aim to run a business that our guests, team, communities, and suppliers can all feel proud of.
