You can’t miss us. We’re in a grand Victorian courthouse on Deansgate, just next door to Spinningfields, Manchester’s buzzing financial district. Our interiors honour the building’s past, featuring lots of reclaimed materials from the era: the parquet flooring is from a (different) courthouse and the wood panelling is from an old college in Birmingham.
We like to remind everyone that we’re not just a restaurant: you can dine while you drink in our bar, which turns out award-winning cocktails and bar snacks. For a more intimate dining experience, groups of up to 14 guests are invited to take over our private dining room. There’s also a semi-private area with space for 30-seated guests.
For those who don’t know the surrounding area, you’re in for a treat: the Northern Quarter and Gay Village are always a great night out. Fortunately, Salford Central and Manchester Oxford Road stations are a short walk away, so we’re a cinch to get to.

Mother’s Day at Hawksmoor
Now, it’s an unspoken rule in most families that no one does a roast quite like Mum and although our Roast has been named the “Best Sunday lunch in the UK” twice, if we’re happy to come second place to anyone, we’ll happily concede to all the amazing Mums out there. The spotlight may often be on our sharing steaks and indulgent sides, but did you know we also have an express menu? Perfect for those with tickets to The Royal Exchange Theatre or looking for a quick, satisfying lunch in Spinningfields, it’s a top-quality option right in the heart of Manchester.
Whatever you’re up to, our express menu – 2 or 3 courses for £29/£33 – delivers the full Hawksmoor experience, just faster and easier on the wallet. And if you haven’t tried our Monday Wine Club, bring your own bottle for just £5 corkage. Pair it with the express menu, and you’re in for one heck of a deal!
Sunday Roast in Spinningfields
Available from 12-5PM every Sunday
If you asked for ‘Hawksmoor on a plate’, it might well be the Sunday roast. Pride of place are a few hearty slices of our slow-cooked whole rump of dry-aged beef. Then there are our much-loved trimmings: beef-dripping roasties, a giant Yorkshire pud, roasted veggies and gallons of bone-marrow gravy.
Our award-winning Sunday lunch extends beyond just one plate, though. Celeriac mash and sausage gravy, cauliflower cheese (with five kinds of cheese!) and roasted bone marrow & onions all look mighty fine dotted around the table.
Private dining & events in Manchester
Looking for a private space to host an event? Behind beautiful glass doors, just opposite the main restaurant, is our Temperance Room . There’s space for 10 to 14 seated guests around a long-oval table and it makes a glamorous setting for intimate dinners, birthday parties and power-lunch powwows.
We’re happy to host exclusive-use whole-venue events, too, with space to comfortably accommodate 160 guests. Also, check out our bar area, which makes a great spot for leaving drinks or an informal engagement party.
BYO Monday Wine Club
every monday, all day – £5 corkage
Mondays are good fun at Hawksmoor Manchester. It’s our BYO wine club and you can bring any bottle you like – from Tignanello to table plonk – and we’ll only charge you £5 corkage. That’s any size bottle, by the way. So if you’ve got a magnum you’re not sure what to do with, pop it in your bag and bring it down.
If you like the idea but are short on inspiration, drop us a line and we’ll send you some interesting suggestions. Or you can take a short walk over to our neighbours at Salut Wines, who have a really interesting selection to choose from.

That begins with our teams and a concern for their well-being, and stretches to the far-reaching network of people who play a role in making what we do happen.
We believe that serving the best steak and seafood is only possible by sourcing from suppliers who are genuinely committed to sustainability and animal welfare. When it comes to our beef, the fact is native-breed cows, raised on a diet of grass and fresh air, produce the best-tasting steak. But we’ll let you be the judge of that.
