Hawksmoor started in 2006 in London with a simple idea: remind people how good steak can be. The best beef + salt + charcoal – that’s it. Our ambitions to serve the best seafood, the best drinks, have the best team and do the whole thing with integrity followed soon afterwards.

Eventually, we came to embody so much of what London is about – a great vibe, laid-back people, incredible produce and a desire to give everyone a good time, whether they’re eating alone at the bar or hosting a party for 150 people.

When we opened that first restaurant in up-and-coming East London, we never imagined we’d be here. Named the World’s Best Steak Restaurant, nods from the James Beard Foundation, twice winners of Tales of the Cocktail … the quintessential London steakhouse with one of the hottest restaurants in New York, and our biggest ever restaurant in America’s spiritual home of beef, Chicago.

This is our love letter to Chicago – a city that shares our passion for beef, hospitality, and doing things properly.

Who says the night has to end early? Steak After 8 is your new Chicago winter ritual – for those who prefer a later bite and one more round (and then another). Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8–10pm, the Beef & Liberty Bar at Hawksmoor Chicago serves up the ultimate cozy comfort: juicy steak and crispy fries for just $25. No rushing. No pretence. Just great food and drinks, and the kind of evenings that stretch on exactly as they should. Grab your crew, settle in, and make those last few rounds a lot more delicious. Winter nights, sorted.

Zero Proof, Full Flavor.

This Dry January, we’re shaking things up with Hawksmoor’s zero-proof cocktails, full of flavor, fun, and totally spirit-free. Whether you’re sipping a dry Martini or trying our Sour Cherry America(no), every drink brings the craft and creativity we’re known for. VOGUE called it a “non-alcoholic devotee’s dream,” and we couldn’t agree more. Pair it all with our British bar bites and settle in. This is Dry January done right.

So, this holiday season, we’re bringing it back. We’ve teamed up once again with brilliant neighbourhood bars across New York, Dublin, Chicago, and Edinburgh to craft a brand-new line up of four seasonal sips designed to celebrate the best festive flavours.

It’s FRY-Day

Every Friday after 5 PM, order a Sub-Zero or Dukes Martini and we’ll hook you up with free fries. Not just any fries—Chicago Mag says they’re the #2 in the city (we’ll take it!). The coldest martinis and crispy fries to start the weekend off right, only at Beef & Liberty Bar.

We’re marking one year in Chicago with a mighty lineup of new dishes. Think Sloppy Joes with a twist, a huge Long-Bone Rib Chop, and tang-talizing Marmite hollandaise. 

Guess who’s back?

Our very own pudding queen, Carla Henriques, has brought back a Hawksmoor favorite—the Grand Rocher—and it’s every bit as dreamy as you remember.

Picture this: layers of rich chocolate mousse, silky Nutella cream, and smooth hazelnut ice cream all tucked inside a delicate chocolate shell with a satisfying crunch. Oh, and that hazelnut praline? Absolute bliss.

It’s nutty, sweet, creamy, and downright irresistible, the kind of dessert that makes you forget about sharing.

Bring Your Own Wine Mondays

Have you heard of our Monday Wine Club? It’s a simple concept: bring any wine you like – doesn’t matter if it’s a first-growth Bordeaux or a bottle of Barefoot – and we will not charge you any corkage.

Not sure what to buy? Take a stroll over to our neighbors at the Aqua Wine & Spirits store (they’re literally on the other side of the street) and they’ll help you choose something to make your meal pop. You can even call us ahead of time and ask one of our somms what they suggest.

Sunday Roast in Downtown Chicago

Available from 12 – 4:30 PM every Sunday 

Our very British Sunday roasts are a Hawksmoor stalwart at our Chicago restaurant and have twice been voted the Best Sunday Lunch in the UK. A whole rump of dry-aged beef is cooked super slow, first on real charcoal and then in the oven. Or groups can choose to feast on a range of handsome sharing steaks.
It’s then served with our much-loved trimmings: beef-fat roast potatoes, buttered greens, carrots and a gigantic Yorkshire pudding (trust us, they’re great) – all ready to be doused in our bone-marrow gravy. Many who have tried it liken it to a Thanksgiving dinner.

Hawksmoor is all about one simple idea: The best beef + salt + charcoal.

We’ve been building relationships with farmers and ranchers for two decades. People who believe what we believe – that the key to incredible steak is caring deeply about animals and the land they farm. We source incredible beef from family-run farms across the Northeast and Pacific Northwest, and cook over real charcoal with Maldon sea salt. That’s it. Because when the beef is that good, you don’t need anything else. Plus heaps of sustainable seafood, fresh local produce and artisanal cheeses. It’s all part of our goal to become one of Chicago’s best steak and seafood restaurants.

As one of the only restaurants to have certified as a B Corp (and the only steakhouse that we know of), we aim to run a restaurant and a company that everyone can feel proud of: you, our customers; our team members; local charity groups; and, of course, our suppliers.

The result is that we get to show off the best produce the US has to offer. And you get to eat it.
