Been handed the job of organizing the team dinner, the family get-together, or the friends who swear every year they’ll finally find a date? We get it. We’ve spent twenty years hosting holiday parties, and the best thing we can do for the person organizing is make it easy.

Tell us the date, the headcount and roughly what you have in mind. One of our events team takes it from there, from menus and drinks to timings on the night, so you can raise a glass and take the credit. There’s no hire fee, and minimum spends are flexible.

The Midwest knows its beef, and Chicago knows a good night out. We’d very much like yours to be the holiday party people are still talking about come February, for all the right reasons.

Thanksgiving Dinner at Hawksmoor Chicago

Hawksmoor has always been about great food, creative cocktails, and a warm room, all with the people you love most. Isn’t that the essence of Thanksgiving?

This year at Hawksmoor, our Thanksgiving menu is British-inspired, but utterly reminiscent of the holiday in all the important ways.

This year we’re serving our Ultimate Sharing Roast: imagine a generous board built for the center of the table. Proper Prime Rib roast cooked over open fire, rested and carved thick. Crisp beef-dripping potatoes. Giant Yorkshire puddings that could double as fluffy pillows. Buttered seasonal greens. Cauliflower cheese with a bronzed top. Proper bone marrow gravy. Horseradish with real bite.

We almost never offer Roast outside of Sundays, but it’s often described as the British version of Thanksgiving. So who are we to gatekeep?

Finish with any of our signature desserts – if you’re looking for recommendations, you can’t go wrong with the Sticky Toffee Pudding, our most popular at every Hawksmoor in the US, UK and Ireland.

You can still host your Friendsgiving at Hawksmoor.

Our signature Sunday Roast is built for Friendsgiving – a table full of people who count as family, even if they’re technically not. The Ultimate Sharing Roast is for those who take meals seriously: a generous board built for the center of the table. Proper roast rib of beef cooked over open fire, rested and carved thick. Crisp beef-dripping potatoes. Giant Yorkshire puddings that could double as fluffy pillows. Buttered seasonal greens. Cauliflower cheese with a bronzed top. Proper bone marrow gravy. Horseradish with real bite.

If steak is more your crowd’s speed, our Steak Flight (available till November 22) features four of our signature cuts to argue over. Pair it with beef-fat chips dunked in anchovy hollandaise, thick-cut maple bacon, and creamed spinach, plus cocktails like a Sour Cherry Negroni or one of our sub-zero martinis. Leave room for dessert: sticky toffee pudding is our signature.

If your Friendsgiving has grown past a normal table – extended friends, plus-ones, the whole group chat – our private dining rooms mean nobody gets left off the invite.

The best part? No cleaning up after the big meal. Well, really the best part is sharing incredible food with the ones you love most.

Holiday private dining & events in River North

Some holiday parties want speeches. Some want a long table, big steaks carved for sharing and nobody standing up to say anything at all. We’ve hosted plenty of both, and the thing we’ve learned is simple: the party should feel like yours, not ours.

Hawksmoor Chicago has private dining rooms and event spaces across three floors of the LaSalle Powerhouse in River North. There’s room for a quiet holiday dinner for a handful of people, a full-blown company party and everything in between. Every room works for a seated feast or a standing cocktail reception.

Lady Bird and Big Mike are made for the smaller end of the season. Beef & Liberty and the Beefsteak Stakes Room take care of the bigger nights. And for the party the whole company will still be talking about come February, take over the entire building.

Chicago Test

Our most intimate private dining room, tucked away and entirely yours. It's named after a champion Devon cow born in 1891, with wood paneling, warm light and a little mid-century swagger.

Best for: a year-end dinner with the leadership team, a thank-you table for your best clients, or the family get-together that only happens once a year.

Big Mike

Tucked away upstairs and entirely yours. It's named after a champion Shorthorn bull born in 1919, the mightiest of all Chicago Bulls (human or bovine, past or present), under a curved ceiling borrowed from the railroad cars the building once powered.

Best for: a department holiday dinner, a year-end client table that deserves more than a booth, or the friends' party that's outgrown a regular reservation.

Our first-floor dining room, where the engines once kept more than 100,000 Chicagoans a day on the move. Now there's a brass-topped bar, warm timber paneling and the original vaulted ceiling overhead.

Best for: the company holiday party that needs a proper sense of occasion, a seated year-end feast for the whole team, or a reception that rolls into dinner without anyone changing rooms.

Beef & Liberty Bar

Chicago

Our second-floor bar and dining room, available as a full buyout with your own bar and a dedicated team. It takes its name from the motto of the Sublime Society of Beefsteaks, who were eating steak and raising toasts back in 1735.

Best for: the office holiday party that's more cocktails than speeches, a team takeover with its own bar, or a festive reception that slides into a seated feast.

The Beefsteak Stakes Room

Chicago

Our third-floor events space, under the original gabled timber ceiling. It's named after an 1876 trotting race where the prize was paid in beefsteak. A horse called Bazar won. Nobody wrote down how much steak.

Best for: the full company holiday party, a year-end banquet with speeches (or pointedly without), or a big festive reception that needs a room of its own.

Three floors and more than 16,500 square feet, all yours for the day or night. Drinks in the Power House Room, dinner upstairs and a nightcap at the bar, without anyone leaving the building.

Our Festive Menus

Our holiday group menus stick to what works: Hawksmoor favorites, a few seasonal specials, and proper options for every dietary requirement, not an afterthought. Steaks arrive sliced in cast-iron pans for the middle of the table, with sides and sauces for everyone to dive into. A wine team who’ll find you something great at a price you’re comfortable with, and a bar that pours Chicago’s coldest martini, at a bracing 10°F.

Farewell to 2026

December

When the Hawk comes off the lake, there are worse places to be than a booth by the bar with a martini and a steak fresh off the coals. Holiday parties of every size are booking now, from a table in the Power House Room to the whole building.

New Year’s Eve

Hawksmoor Chicago is closed to the public on New Year’s Eve, as we’re hosting a private event. We’ll see you the next day.

New Year’s Day

We’re open as usual on New Year’s Day. A slow lunch, something restorative from the bar and nowhere to be. We can’t think of a better way to start the year.
