Thanksgiving dinner at Hawksmoor New York
Open Thursday, November 26, 11:45am to 8pm.
Either somebody is cooking for fourteen in a kitchen built for one, or good luck finding a place that’s open and can accommodate your group. We’ve got you taken care of.
On the table is the Ultimate Sharing Roast, Thanksgiving is the one Thursday all year it comes out. A board of rib of beef cooked over open fire and carved thick, with crisp beef-dripping potatoes, giant Yorkshire puddings, buttered greens, cauliflower cheese with a bronzed top, bone marrow gravy and horseradish with real bite. It is the British Sunday roast with the volume up. Ours in the UK has twice been voted the best in the country by The Observer, and this is what happened when we stopped being modest about it.
The full à la carte runs all day, too – since we think steak is a perfectly good choice for Thanksgiving. Nobody peels anything, and nobody is scrubbing a roasting tin after the meal, while everyone else is on the sofa.
Thanksgiving Day already locked in? Friendsgiving is the one you get to pick the date for. Come on a Sunday and the roast makes the decision for you. Come any other day and our sharing steaks, carved for the middle of the table with sides nobody is shy about, do the same job from a different direction. If the guest list has quietly outgrown a dining table, with plus-ones, roommates and the whole group chat, our private dining rooms mean nobody has to be left off it. Lord Bronx seats 14 and Ty Whoppity seats 12. The best part is that nobody is washing up afterwards. Although if we are honest, the best part is the eating, and the people you are doing it with.
