Hawksmoor Chicago offers a collection of versatile private dining and event spaces across three floors, making it ideal for everything from intimate dinners to large-scale celebrations. The venue can host private dining, corporate events, weddings, rehearsal dinners, milestone birthdays, engagement parties, product launches, networking receptions and brand activations, with rooms suited to both seated dining and standing cocktail receptions.

Smaller spaces such as Lady Bird and Big Mike are perfect for executive dinners, private business meetings and special-occasion gatherings, while larger rooms like Beef & Liberty and the Beefsteaks Stakes Room work well for company parties, conferences, presentations and celebratory group dining.

For truly memorable occasions, the entire restaurant can be hired for exclusive venue hire for up to 385 seated guests or 500 standing, offering a dramatic setting for weddings, corporate functions and large celebrations in the heart of Chicago’s River North.

Big Mike

Tucked away upstairs, Big Mike is our larger private dining room and a space that feels entirely your own. It seats up to 22 guests, or 32 standing.

Named after a champion Shorthorn bull born in 1919, with a quiet nod to Michael Jordan, the greatest of the Chicago Bulls, whose restaurant once stood here. The curved ceiling takes its cue from the railroad cars the building once powered. The walls tell their own story, with Chicago’s cattle history alongside vintage menus from Michael Jordan’s and other iconic restaurants from the city’s past.

With warm, generous service and menus tailored to the occasion, Big Mike is the kind of room people remember long after the last plate has been cleared.

Lady Bird 3rd

Nestled away within the restaurant, Lady Bird is our more intimate private dining room, set apart and entirely your own. It seats up to 16 guests.

Named after a champion Devon cow born in 1891. The walls are lined with artwork drawn from Chicago’s beef heritage alongside details from some of the city’s most storied restaurants.

The room brings together rich wood paneling, warm light, and a touch of mid century character. It feels relaxed but considered, the kind of space that works just as well for a quiet dinner as it does for something a little more celebratory.

The Beefsteak Stakes Room

The Beefsteak Stakes Room is our dedicated events space on the third floor, built for larger gatherings of 100 – 200 guests.

A space to make your own, it works as a true blank canvas and can be shaped entirely around the occasion. We can flex the room to suit your plans, with a list of trusted suppliers on hand or the freedom to bring in your own. If you would rather keep things simple, we have everything in house, from tables to linens, ready to create a complete Hawksmoor experience without the extra effort.

Set beneath a striking gabled ceiling of original timber beams and joists, with exposed brickwork, timber floors, and bespoke lighting. It is a private room with real presence, equally suited to banquets, conferences, weddings, and large celebrations.

Beef & Liberty Bar

Our popular and vibrant second floor bar and dining room is made for bigger occasions, from corporate events and engagements to weddings, birthdays, photoshoots, and everything in between.

Available for full buyouts, the space is entirely yours for the day or evening, ideal for 85 to 100 guests, with your own bar and a dedicated team looking after every detail. It has the energy of the main restaurant, but with the flexibility to shape it around your plans, whether that means a lively party, a seated feast, or something in between.

Power House Room

The Power House Room sits on the first floor, in a space that once housed the engines powering the journeys of more than 100,000 Chicagoans each day.

Today, it is defined by a dramatic brass topped bar, warm timber paneling, and an original vaulted ceiling. A striking room with a sense of history, and a natural setting for lively dining and larger gatherings of 100 to 165 guests.

Food & Drinks

Our events menus are perfect for standing style receptions or seated dinners. We feature a range of options that can be tailored to suit a variety of dietary requests. We feature sharing menus which offer a range of classic Hawksmoor dishes and our dictionary-thick steaks. All are served family style – with the steaks cooked to order, sliced, and served in cast-iron skillets with our legendary sides and sauces.
All menus can be accompanied by matched wines selected by our team of sommeliers, as well as a variety of cocktail packages showcasing an aperitif to start and a digestif to finish your meal. If you prefer to order drinks à la carte once in the restaurant, that’s no trouble at all.

We can cater for vegetarians or any other dietary requirements you or your guests may have.
