What's on the menu?

Think of it as a collision of traditions: British beefsteak revelry, South American steakhouse mastery, and a room full of Chicagoans ready to get their hands a little messy in the pursuit of really good meat.

Family-style platters of will arrive at the table in generous waves (if you’re expecting silverware, you’re in the wrong place). Bread stacked high. Beer flowing freely. And somewhere along the way you’ll realize you’ve stopped worrying about table manners entirely.

Passed starters include steak tartare, hashbrowns with malt vinegar mayo, gougères with rarebit, Oysters Caruso with giardiniera vinaigrette, morcilla and chorizo served on the parrillada.

For mains, all natural Black Angus & Wagyu beefsteaks, whole charcoal-roasted baby lamb – with sourdough bread, bone marrow gravy, and both verde and criolla salsas.

Sides include puffed beef tendon, Caesar salad, Boston salad, delta asparagus, and beef dripping chips.

And if you have room for dessert, which we hope you will after all that, beef dripping doughnuts with maple bacon and custard close out the evening.

Guests can enjoy beer from Off Color Brewing and a cocktail starring Fernet-Branca, alongside non-alcoholic beverages and a wine selection featuring Susana Balbo Malbec and Pazo das Bruzas Albarino.

An above view of people sat at a table that is full of sharing steak in black skillets, sides, such as fries and mac and cheese and cocktails.

Steak, Stories & Good Company

What to expect?

This isn’t just a dinner; it’s a tribute to London’s iconic Sublime Society of Beefsteaks, a secret society celebrating beef since 1735, hosted in our aptly named Beefsteak Stakes Room, on the third floor of our beautiful restaurant.

But it is not just about the food; it is about the fun. Expect boisterous conversation, great company, and a night of indulgence, joy, and celebration – one that you won’t want to miss. Chef Manion and Hawksmoor founder Huw Gott will regale the group about the rich history of London’s Beefsteak Clubs, the art of butchery, and what makes a truly great steak.

A little messy, a lot delicious, and exactly the kind of night that reminds you why sharing a great meal with a room full of people is one of life’s best pleasures.

A table surrounded by smiling guests, enjoying a skillet of sharing steak that is being passed around to each other. There is also a selection of sides on the table including fries and creamed cabbage.

Only three rules: Come hungry. Bring friends. Leave full.
